Young Life Africa – Home and Orphanage
Young life Africa children’s home and orphanage is a home that rescues, rehabilitates, accommodates, educates and feeds orphans and vulnerable children from society. It is located in Kenya, Ruiru district, behind Kenyatta university Ruiru campus.
We target children from five to eighteen years. Currently the project has 40 children. Our ultimate goal is create responsible and fulfilled Christian adults out of the children in the project.
The project was started in 2003 march 15th by Bishop Tonny Kamande In Huruma with sole objective of helping the disadvantage children living in the slum of Mathare, kambi-moto, Huruma; Kariobangi from all forms of bondage. Later the home was moved to Ruiru to a farm donated by a well-wisher.
BEI support has helped pay for school fees, uniforms, school construction, food, a greenhouse for vegetable production for home consumption and sale in the local market, clean water bore-hole pump and piping, irrigation system, ongoing technical advice and assistance.
