Watoto Kenya – Students Sponsorship

Watoto Kenya aims to empower children in need through a sustainable vision , with the aim to help them reintegrate into Kenya’s social fabric with the ability to provide for themselves and the desire to improve the quality of life around them.

BEI supports the school fees of some 12-15 children of elementary and high school ages.

The elementary school kids live in the Makobeni center and the high school kids are in the best boarding schools in the Malindi area.
Watoto Kenya runs a few income generation projects: production of handicrafts in the Makobeni center for sale in their shop in Malindi, Production of furniture grade wood from a small commercial forest in Makobeni, A water kiosk which sells piped water to the villagers from the Makobeni area.
Makobeni is a very poor rural area about 40 KMs west of Malindi which is on the east coast of Kenya and is accesible only by a single dirt road.
